The event gathered 60 professionals, including 19 international attendees, to discuss #communityengagement and #socialinnovation within the framework of the HECSOs projectย
๐ต Highlights of the event:
Introduction to the #HECSOs project aiming to promote community engagement through collaborative and innovative initiatives.
๐ต Case Studies and Results: Caritas Vienna presented the #Grรคtzeleltern” initiative, a project supporting migrants and refugees, while S-nodi showcased six #toolkits developed to foster community action in various European contexts. S-nodi also introduced the 2024 #SummerSchool on Community Engagement, held in #Turin in June.
๐ต European Policy Recommendations: Dr Stefania Savva from SYNTHESIS Center for Research & Education shared strategies to strengthen participatory #democracy, #inclusivity, and #equity through the involvement of citizens and stakeholders.
Closing Reflections:
From #MEP Benedetta Scuderi to irene bonvissuto (#DGCLIMA ), the importance of community engagement practices and cross-sector partnerships was emphasized as essential tools for empowering local communities and fostering social inclusion or resilience to climate change.
